Great for an established tank (with stable green algae growth is best) that doesn't have overly aggressive fish. I've kept with bichirs and it was left alone, succumbed to velvet. Need cleaner than average, <20 nitrates, water. Probably needs to be supplemented similar to most plecos.
I love these guys. I sell them all the time at my pet store. A lot of people keep them in planted community tanks because they are bigger then Otocinclus and they are safe to the plants and aren't to big and doofy so they don't uproot or disturb the landscape to much. over all they are cool looking cats when get to a good size. look like big nosed dinosaurs.
