Sorry I don't have a pic. Big cichlid at my lfs, they didn't know what it was either, somebody had given it to them. It was very beat up so I'd hate to see what fish did that to him as it was around 15". Anyway it was sort of banded gray like a big convict, again beat up but you could see where he was a banded fish. He seemed to have one wider, darker band behind his gills. He also had quite a bit of red under the chin, somewhat like a firemouth would but the red didn't spread as far up & back as on a firemouth. Body shape/type resembled a FH or trimac, but not nearly the colors that either of those fish have.
Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Probably not buying it, too big for my tank/fish. I was thinking maybe black belt actually, wasn't sure if it should have that red. If he's still there next time I go I'll take a pic with my phone.
