This species was first found here in 1930s in Vltava river near Prague and since then was discovered in some other localities. In Europe it was first seen in around 1900 and it is now known to live almost in every European country. In fact it lives almost all around the world, this (and maybe the only? not sure) species of freshwater jellyfish lives in most countries of North and South America, Asia and Australia as well.
