Was wondering if anyone has LMB and Crappie together... specifically black crappie? Im putting together a 125g native tank and trying to decide what to put in. One or 2 LMB, a catfish, crappie, sunfish, not sure yet want some ideas.

I have not tried Bass with crappie, but did have them in with Small Mouth Buffalo and Freshwater Drum. The Bass almost from the start began acting very aggresive toward all others, not allowing them to eat enough. I had to get rid of the Bass in order to save the rest. This was also in a 3,000 gallon tank.

there is a high chance that the LMB could be the only fish in the tank at some point in the future.

totally agree...those things mouth are balck holes. Also don't lmb need 300+ gallon aquariums?lmb.jpeglmb2.jpeglmb3.jpeg

I had all plus more together and never had any issues in my 500. He did eat the longears, bluegill which I knew he would but was ok, natural food for him.

now thats an appropriate sized tank for a lmb

well i know the 125 is temporary i will be in an apartment so waiting till i have a house to go to a larger set up. The lmb eating the catfish is unlikely, the other fish are a possibility im sure

I've kept crappie and largemouth together. In my experiences if you add the fish to the tank at the same time you should be okay for awhile. Multiple largemouth in the same tank has had different ends for me. Sometimes they get along, and other times one is really aggressive and stresses the other one out a lot.
