so i have what seems to be a pair of firemouths
they are both probably 4 inches or less
they live in an aggressive overstocked(but way over filtered) 55
the two are starting to pair off more now,
they do things like flare the gill plate,
chase each other around the tank
one advances the other backs off, and vise versa
i think this could be 'mating dances' or maybe just a show of dominance (they are the only two firemouths in the tank)
the tanks has been warm 86f warm lately (ac broke)
Do you think this is a mating call
if so should i separate them into a 10gal (if thats big enough)
some warm temp 84-ish and flat rocks to try and get them to mate,
they are fairly difficult to photograph but if i get any responses i will try to post pix
