Just bought two red chromides at the local pet shop a week ago, they are only a little over an inch right now and in a ten gallon brackish tank soon to be moved to a 29 gallon, when I get the ok from the old lady.

very hardy, relatively peaceful little brackish cichlids..had them with archers in a 90 gallon back in the day. Only had them for about a year, but seemed hardy, and were kept at lower scale of brackish (sg 1.008-1.012)

Do you think they will eat my rhino-horn gobies(1-2 inch) when they are full grown? And did you give yours vegetable matter?

I've kept and bred them a few times... they can be really rough on each other. I've kept them in full freshwater without issue. See what they're being kept in at the LFS before you plop them in brackish.

Mine ate flake and NLS.

not familiar with those, but will most likely not eat them, might pick on them as they are quite small...I've never kept them with small tankmates like that
