Anyone have Midas/RD grow-out pics?

Hey there everybody,

Well lately I just cannot get enough of the Midas/RD, and I am anxiously awaiting to see what my 3" baby monster grows up to look like. I'd be really interested to see if anyone has any grow-out pics of their fish?

I'd also love to hear if anyone keeps their Midas/RD as a "wet pet" and what your tank setups are like. I'm in the plans to move my parents' 25-year-old 90g setup down here for my Midas, but it will be a 1000-mile round trip and most likely won't happen until Christmas break. Anyways, bring 'em on! I'd really love to see what you have...

Here's my little Lab x Cit. Only had him for a little over a month and by the look of him i'd guesstimate his age to be around 6 months, (You can see from the pictures that he's still very young.) Currently he has 3.5' of my 120g (72" x 18" footprint.) until i find a buyer for my female Festae, then he'll have all 120g to himself. As for decor, he'll have a flowerpot along with a piece of driftwood.

Hey did your RD's get black spots on their tails and noses? Mines just started to get them.

Yes Darky, that's perfectly normal. Most Devil's and Midas' will go through that phase. I actually watched this one of mine grow at the LFS for around 3 months before i took him home. The majority of his back half was patchy, along with the top half of his face. It fades out fairly quickly in most cases.

He's 13-14" now... and getting close to 4 years old. I should get some new photos done. He's a massive beast now.

here is mine from the last week of may to last week. I bought him he was 3" and completely barred. Now he is 6" and all orange. I keep him in a 90g that has a piece of driftwood with java moss on it. He shares the tank with 5" raphel cat,
