I feel these fish get a bad rap. No one ever keeps them past 3" because of aggression. And i here aaalll the time these things are super aggressive and you here employees at lfs telling people that all the time. So does anyone have an adult you raised from little? Feel free to share your experiences and pics.

My buddy had a 12in one in his 180g but it jumped.

I had one from about 2 inches untill he got to around 11. Maybe i just got lucky but it was a great fish. He was the smaller fish in the tank so maybe that helped

I had two, 8" and 10". Terrible, all they did was nip at tankmates. Put them in a separate tank, they jumped and knocked off the lid while I was at work. Problem solved.

I got one pushing a foot, but the Aquarium of the Americas down here has some HUGE ones w/ monster ripsaws and rays in Amazon exhibit. I keep mine w/ giant pike ciclids, he don't mess w/ them at all. I also have some chalceus and anostomus in other tanks.

Kept three 11 inches ones in the past before I sold them because of their super aggressive. I can't even kept african cichlids, puffers and parrot cichlids with them. I even kept them in a 10gal tank as I have no choice but to stop them from killing other tankmates. Don't worry I sold them already.
