Anyone have there trimac over black substrate??

I know usually a fish over darker substrate is a darker looking fish. I just wanted to know if anyone has there trimac over some black substrate...if so did it make them darker? Pics?

i did for a couple days and didnt like it so now hes in my tank with sand

Kinda thought that might be the case. I had some lyonsi over black and didn't like them. But I have some nice black sand I'd like to use lol.

i would go with a light sand with just a little black sand

I dont like the speckled look...I will be light sand or gravel and a black background.

Pics would be good. I may still start with the black and see how it goes. My only other concern is I plan to run AC110's on the back and they dont care for sand too much...but its a 90tall so the intakes are far from the sand.

And just for kicks this is the fish I will be getting from someone...they got it from Jeff rapps. Its going to go in a 90tall (same as in the vid) and maybe a school of tinfoils barbs if he allows it. I know the barbs get big...i'll just rotate them out once they are too big.

i just checked on mines he looks fine. The black underneath makes his colors stand out more
