just wondering if anyone has heard of a 55g high tank and where did you get it. i might consider it and think it would be fun.

I've allway thought of the standerd 55 as a tall tank its 48'' long and 12'' wide and 20'' tall compared to a 50 breeder its a tall tank a 50 hes might be considered a tall tank but other then that i've never seen a 55 tall

I have seen a 55g column. It was square. Think 2 10g fused together but ALOT taller. Though about getting one to make a micro reef, but didn't want to drop the cash.

I just picked this up from craigslist. It's made by perfecto, a 56-gallon column.

why would you want a tall though? Most fish prefer foot print. I just got a 110 tall and although I like it I would rather it be wider and shorter

Mine is 36 20 18
I think that's 55 or 56 point something or something.
I salvaged it from a dumpster and patched it with linoleum flooring.
It's a waked shape. OK if you are short on space. But I'd rather have it longer, if lower.
The top guys stay high. The bottom guys stay low. A bit of unclaimed territory in the middle.
And its not much good for bigger fish. They want length, not height.

me too but i just thought one would be cool as sort of a wall tank that goes most of the way up the wall like a picture or something. and also something of size, not like a 10g.

to me a 55 tall would be good for a marine tank where you could build high rock columns so the fish could feel comfortable at all hights of the tank. Otherwise I agree with everyone else on a longer/wider foot print.
What are you thinking of keeping in the 55t if you find one?
