Why did your PH drop in the first place?

Didn't see the first thread, sorry and thanks!

I wouldn't use it. It's a marine buffer and could cause your PH and hardness levels to shoot way up.

IMO putting things like buffers in a tank without knowing the underlying cause for your problems isn't going to help you in the long run. A piece of driftwood in a tank shouldn't cause a PH drop like your seeing so fast.

You seem to have very unstable water chemistry in your tank. Have you tested your KH/carbonate hardness? That might give you an idea as to why your PH is swinging.

iv completey restarted everything, emptyed out the whole tank washed everything. geez having a fish tank is harder then i thought, i thought all you had to do is get water filter, heater and a fish....

also i have noather questions, for a 10 gal thank that has complety NO buffers making it higher or lower will the PH drop slowy?

Things like ammonia and fish waste cause PH to drop, as well as dirftwood, especially if your water has a low buffering capacity (KH) to start off with.

If you emptied the tank and washed everything then you are going to have another cycle in your tank. Did you clean the filter out too? If yes then all the bacteria in your tank is gone and you are starting over.

Cycle your tank first, then worry about buffering and such.

yea i know =\ but then again a 10 gal should take more then 7 days to cycle

i have complety nothing to buffer ph right now, still deciding if i should use a teaspoon of seabuffer

Adding a buffer will just cause your pH to fluctuate up & down again. Fluctuating pH is more harmful than one that is low. What is the pH of your tap water? If you do enough water changes, it should stay the same as your tap.
