Where there is sunshine
you can get flowerhorn, parrot fish, redtail-shovelnose etc hybrids...But I have never heard or seen a black/silver hybrid..Anyone know anything about that?

never heard of a silver/black hybrid, however, I think it is possible. Asian arowanas from different regions have been crossed to create new strains.

Yes..It would be interesting if one of our MFK members with the two try it once...

Actually there already got many hybrid Asian Arowanas in the market...

They are:
-High-Back Golden Arowana (Red tail Golden Aro x Cross Back Golden Aro)
-1.5 red (Green Aro x Red Aro)
-Tong Yan (Red Aro x Cross Back Golden Aro)

That is true. We rarely take them as hybrids but its true they are hybrids. But this is the full extent of hybrids with asian aros. We can say these hybrids are somewhat "known" by most to be pure strains now as they are bred with each other. For eg. high back golds are bred with each other instead of RTGs with cross backs as this would be too hard to control. So to some extent you are right, but most would still think these are pure strains.

Yeah, agree with you.

Post some pictures to proof...

Can see this Tong Yan's scales got both characteristics of both red aro and Cross Back Golden Aro.

So there are more then one species of Scleropages formosus? Or different strains which would not be considered hybrid if crossed.
