Hi,

Anyone here enjoy gardening? What do you grow? This year so far I grew 8 tomato plants (4 variety), bell peppers (red, green), Seranno pepper, 3 types of Basil, Green onions, Leeks, Dill, Mint, Sage, and Rosemary.

In the next few days I am going to plant some fall crops; Lettuce, Kale, Radishes, Carrots, Beets, Arugula, Dill, Parsley, and Cilantro.

I already got plans for next Spring. Wanna try Gooseberries, and different varieties of Tomato like Black Krim and Green Zebra. I am in Zone 9 so I am going to leave my peppers in the ground since they are really perennials and they should survive. Other than that I like Cactus too and fruit trees. But no room for trees. Of course I like water gardens too, but again don't have enough room plus we plan to move in less than 2 years. So what do you grow or would like to grow?

Grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons and one year we tried corn but the varmints ate more of it then we did.

Yeah I am doing melon and cucumbers next year. I had problems with some pests too, hornworms, tomato fruit worms, grasshoppers, and a mouse or possum or something. I would occasionally find tomatoes bitten into or half eaten. I started pulling my tomatoes as soon as I saw a little pink on them. They just ripen inside days later. I am gonna be planting herbs and flowers that attract more beneficial insects.

I have possums, racoons, squirrels and even groundhogs to contend with(in the middle of the city no less)so I really don't do too much anymore. The coons shut my pond down a few years ago, stealing my koi, otherwise I would love to make another attempt at strawberries....I do like tropical plants and I have a cold hardy palm that has survived the past winter.

I had one once. I grew a tomato plant and peppers (bell peppers red, orange and green), banana peppers and that's it. I had a plot at the school botanical gardens then a few weeks ago they took out all of my plants so I have nothing now. I went in for an explanation and for the last two weeks I can't find anyone to talk to to tell me what happened. I am a pretty mad, but it being as long as it has, my plants are gone or dead by now. I do have one pepper left on my patio but I dunno what kind it is. I also have a type of cilantro but its FL so its not doing the best. I plan to give gardening a try again, but going to have to do it earth box style...(need good suggestions for what I can grow).

Mine's a little different from most people's. I have a bog garden with some native orchids, sedge grasses, milkwort, sundews, and pitcher plants. One of the pitchers is a federally endangered species.

the kind of garden i grow will get me in trouble talking about it

jk, lol, i love home grown corn and cucumbers. only thing i got going now is lemon grass, a lemon tree and a pomagranite tree

That's awesome, your own pomegranate tree...When we were kids we used to call them Chinese apples.

mine is only about 5-6 feet tall, the pomagranites don't get too big but they are really sweet

my cousin has one that is as tall as a 1 story house. they pick em every year and share them with everybody, good eatin right there

Yeah they are a pain in the butt to pick out the edible parts but I like them and the POM juice.
