Anyone here have a hydroponics Setup?

Im thinking about doing a hydroponics set up for my goldfish tank... its 40 gallons and i got this badly made 20 gallon sump. i was thinking of doing a small hydroponics setup just for gags. But im quite unfamiliar with this! anyone can assist? (thinking of spinach)

When you combine the growing of vegetables/plants in water(hydroponics) and culturing of finfish(aquaculture) in combined system, it's referred to as aquaponics. There is a ton of information out there on the subject. If you have a specific question, feel free to ask.
