i figure most fish enthusiasts would enjoy other fish related activities such as snorkeling. I would like to get some new fins, anyone have any suggestions for some good fins under $60.

Come on, Theres plenty of people here from So Cal and Florida, someone here should be able to help me

I'm an avid snorkeler, when I go on vacation it's what I do the most besides eating.I plan to take the courses to become a certified diver also. There is a thread in the Lounge about divers, look it up and post and you should get some good advice.

After shelling out over a hundred bucks for fins that seriously lacked in propulsion, I came to the conlcusion that any fins UNDER a hundred bucks are good fins. :grinyes:

The way my dive instructor put it was "diving is a comfort sport" and "you don't want power poles strapped to your feet". So I shelled out the bucks for the ones he recommended (he worked on commission, go figure). Anyway, they were comfortable but they would never win a race.

The best I can say is don't fall for the gimicks such as the split fins unless you try some first. It just isn't logical to bleed off power from your kick through a large gap in the middle of the fin, right?

same here. just got back from Cozumel Mexico over the holidays. amazing snorkeling, great food. its neat snorkling because you know all the names of the fish/inverts because 90% are common in the saltwater aquarium trade..
