need a steady fishing buddy or two to hopefully fish atleast once a week steadiy. im docked in freeport, ny. run a 20' wellcraft, since my twin engine ormula s just too much $$ to maintain anymore. this is a new area for me, so still trying to map out good fishing spots in the inlet and bays.

i fish for stripers and blues mainly, and occasionally fluke, porgy and sea bass. come winter time, its blackfish. gas/bait split equally between myself and whoever else comes aboard. generally never more than 25-30 MAX for a full days fishing between us, and that includes fuel, bait and chum. sometimes more $ sometimes less.

if interested, PM me. tired of fishing alone, so would be nice to have others out with me.

**this is NOT an offer for a charter, as i dont make a penny off it. i also do NOT allow hard drugs or hard liquor on my boat. we're fishing, not gettng plastered ;)

so hard to find people to fish with these days :irked:

Sorry, can't join as I'm a full time Dad to a 9 month old, and my fishing time is usually a quick launch of my skiff or kayak. I do however live on Baldwin bay, and can tell you the following:

The back bays are loaded with tiny fluke 8-14" at best. Have only seen two big boys inside so far. My suggestion is to fish 60-70 feet outside the inlet, and also sometimes near the JI buoy. If you want to fish inside, try near the Hospital, there is a spot off Magnolia pier called Duck Point or Duck Island that often has a few decent fish. Right in front of the hospital also has some decent fish as the water is deep, I've had blues, bass, etc.

Outside - right now, I would say anchor over the bar right outside the Jones inlet, I've had a few bass and blues this year, nothing too great to write about, all 10lbs or less. All on clam while chumming.

If you want to search for the blues, just go find the bunker outside, and snag a few, take a ride west of the inlet to the pink hotel off Long Beach/Lido, and look for the fish, there are always blues and stripers around there.

Also, try Reynolds channel, I always get a mixed bag in there, but watch your speed, the bay constables don't play around there.

Reef - Anchor up on Hempstead reef is your best bet, unless its a spectacular day, in which case head out to seventeen fathoms.

Best of luck!

I lived in oceanside till about 14 years ago might have taken you up on that.
Boats can be $$$ everybody tells me boat stands for "Break Out Another Thousand"lol
Good luck hope you find someone!

i loved how you used the term plastered ! haha

fishing is getting real expensive these days, we got a 22' fishhawk wa
but are downsizing to a mako cc, i think were looking at a 18' with 90 hp
will be easier to trail and not as much of a gas guzzler
