Coming down to Virginia Beach for the week of the 4th of July. Just checking to see what are some of the cool local things to check out , places to eat , fish related stuff to do ?

Thanks in advance for any info.

The biggest lfs around is animal jungle on holland.rd in vabeach they have it all. If u want to take back home a baby monster go to pet paradise on kellam.rd in the pembrook/downtown area of vabeach they usualy have a good selection of fresh water monsterslike rtc, jardini, guapote,fh,rays, gars.

For fun i recomend ocean breeze park on general booth blvd in vabeach it's a waterpark,gocarts,paintball,put-put,batting cages etc.. Aslo on general booth is the va marine science museum lots of great exhibits indoors and outside but it's all saltwater stuff or well 90% i guess. The vabeach fishing pier on the resort strip is good a spot they also do fishing charter boats but don't go on a bay fishing trip it's waste of money spend a bit more and find a private charter and go out to sea and u may find some great fishing. There is alot of cool bars and nightlife on the resort strip but there are also alot gangs and cops out on every corner be prepaired to be harassed by one of the two if out after hours.

Good thread!!

When i lived in the seven citys for 6 years i wasnt into the hobby. I return there twice a year.

There is a small Mom-&-Pop fishy store called Fish Safari, mostly small fish, but they have a few monsters.. And rare fish. Very well cared for also.

Very rare stock there, like chocolate gouramis and Madagascar rainbows. Their saltwater section is amazing!

If you can get up to the Newport News area, the Virginia Living Museum is pretty cool, they have paddle fish! The VA Beach aquarium is small, but pretty nice. You might be able to find a car show while you're down there. They usually have some really cool cars!

where is the mom and pops fish store, i have lived in poquoson my whole life but i have never heard of that.
But as far as lfs's go i would def recommend animal jungle and pet paradise, as previously metioned. Animal jungle has more fish but i think they are little pricey IMO. But they are only a couple minutes apart.

o my bad i didn't see fish safari, is that the one with the big trigger fish right when you walk in
