I have a local connect that might be able to get me some aquarium sized Longnose Gar (Lepisosteus osseus). If so, would anyone here be interested in some, and if so how many? I want to see if there is enough of market to generate his interest...

From what I have been told they are coming from a private impoundment which should ease a lot of the legality of this.

However, I do know Delaware has no restrictions on Gar in the state and seems to unaware of their existence here as a native fish and certainly is NOT listed as a protected gamefish (which for example Chain Pickerel is yet has no restrictions). This allows them to be bowfished in the state. I have a contact that does aquaculture in the state and I'll talk to him as well DNREC to help further figure out the legality of everything in accordance with Delaware law.

Size would depend on what he could pull out, but I told him that anything 20" or less should be reasonable.

Price would depend on supply and demand, and if there's enough interest for him. Shipping rates will be standard.

Sounds good to me. I await further details.
