I have 11 trees some seedlings in training some trees that still need work. Was wondering how many out there also keep bonsais. Lets see some pics of yours? I will post mine soon as I am at work on lunch.

I currently have:
5 Banyan figs oldest is about 27 years old. (one is waiting to be pruned and potted into a bonsai style as I have let grow a few years.
1 Japanese maple
1 Juniper
1 Buddhist pine
1 Japanese boxwood
2 unknown trees. very young.

I do like bonsai tress a lot... gave it a shot a while back but didn't do too well and died (was a cheap one)... since then haven't really given it another shot...

Mine needs pruning.
Japanese black pines and chinese elms is what I keep.
Will try to take pics tomorrow.

Its something I want to learn. Would love to see some pictures

Can anyone suggest some reading or sites to check out for a beginner?? I've always wanted to do bonsai. I'm growing some Black Mangroves in my tank to bonsai from propagates for almost a year now (check my sig).

Same here, always wanted to learn about Bonsai trees, I was just thinking about starting off with a cheap one recently. I'd love some info!

I had some bonsai many years ago, and also into orchid, too.. Now with kids and fish, I dropped the bonsai, and still keep some Australian dendrobium sp.

Another hobby we haven't had a lot of time for, we bought a contorted filbert for the front garden. It's not a bonsai by any means but it would make a nice bonsai if the right specimen was found. They grow slow and look unusual.

I can't keep plants in the house due to my allergies, I don't know if I could keep one in the house and I don't know if it could survive Oklahoma weather swings.

MaddMaxx- Just type "bonsai basics" or "how to bonsai" into google. That is how I started.

Been raining here for a few days so haven't gone out to take pics.

We are lucky with weather. All trees seem to do well here.

Jlnguyen- Nice tree in the 5th pic. is it a juniper.

kendragon- would love to see pics.
