Starting a nepenthes collection soon, too bad i cant find any large specimens locally :(.

Anyone into carnivorous plants?

i had a venus flie trap for about a mounth when i was little it was pretty cool then i planted it and forgot about it lol

always wanted to do a viv of just the plants like that, should be a thread someplace here, but anyways,I just dont need any more things in the house that need lighting and such, lol.Post pics if you get something going.

i have a store down the street that sells huge pitchers and venus flys ive thought about it

heres a question could i do red eye tree frogs with pitcher plants or would they get nom nomd?

They will get nom nomd :(
There are a few species of nepenthes that have smaller traps, those are safe. also butterworts and sundews are safe, but they are less interesting and require a 4 month dormancy period.

Your so lucky, all i can find are those small 3" plants they sell at home depot. Hopefully that botanical garden near me will sell some of theirs during one of their sales, hopefully my ebay purchase wont be a disappointment, ten bucks a foot.

isnt there a specailized herp (cant remember wat type) that just camps in pitchers waitning for bugs to be lured in?
