I know Wes does, but they're pretty small and in a large tank for their size. And I know Channa keeps a tat w/ bass. Anyone try this combo with adults? I'm just planning for the future here. I eventually want an armatus. I am getting a 300 wide soon, which will be good for a smaller armatus for a while, but it's going to have a nice group of p-bass in it and they will all eventually have to go in a larger tank that I'm planning on in 2 or 3 years. I know I will have to keep my water quality top notch and have a good current, but that won't be a problem as I'm planning on running a 3000 GPH pump (well, probably 2 x 1500).

I don't think there's anyone that frequents this forum that has armatus and bass, so maybe this should be in the "Other Characins" section.

I'm hoping to have a jardini and armatus in with my p-bass and maybe an RTC eventually.

Jardini, Armatus & Bass sounds sooo good!
The feeding show theyd put on would be sick!

I did and it was just a matter of time until an accidental jab in the eye to the PBASS that can cause blindness.

They will get along in a sense that as long as neither is small enough to eat. Armatus can get pretty territorial and may take jabs at the PBASS. Also when it comes to eating if there happens to be a frenzy accidents can happen.

My PBASS are worth more to me then my Armatus at the time so he had to go.

I'm planning on a similar setup this summer when the wheels on my new tank start rolling. My only concern is I don't imagine Armatus being aggressive eaters to the point where they can stand a chance with a nice school of bass. That, and the fact that Armatus are incredibly difficult to come by these days, makes me fear the worst for this plan.

Hopefully someone can come in and ease my worried mind :)

it would be nice. so far, my jar has been cool so I think it'll go well with bass. It's an aggressive eater, though and it's starting to get a bit much for the fish it's in with as far as that's concerned but the only fish it chases at all is my AT, but never inflicts damage. I think it would be perfect for bass, but it's going to have to wait until the bass are a little bigger and off live.

that's very true. I'm not sure I would be willing to risk my piquiti.

hope it works out. Rich just sold out and I was very tempted to grab one, but I didn't want to spend the money or have the tankspace. And now here I am grabbing all sorts of Cichla, lol. I think the armatus should be able to get enough food with the bass. It'll depend on the individual personality, though. Channa should chime in on this one. Maybe I'll ask this in the other section too and see if trev and those guys have any input on this matter.

whaaaa.. thats a nice chunk... if it did that to my peas i would literally punch it....
