They look pretty sweet but never seen anyone have them in their tanks. Im getting some 10" plus guys soon from a friend. Are they worth anything? lol

Hoplos are great catfish to have, they look very prehistoric and are one of my favorites. Just keep in mind that they love to tear up live plants and make their bubble nest out of them. They aren't worth a great deal of money, lots of people in Florida can catch them because they escaped from some fish farms years ago.

I actually caught two 9" hoplos near my house. I put them into a small decorative pond with some other fish including cichlids and Koi. Unfortunately, one jumped out but the other one is still in there and doing fine. It comes up to the top and eats with the rest of the fish and seems pretty peaceful. I think they are pretty good fish although I don't think they are worth very much.

The problem you will have is finding them. Since they don't really sell for much, most stores aren't going to stock them. I would guess under $10 for smaller ones.
