I'm looking into getting one of these eels but I'm trying to do a lot of research first. I can't find much info on the net so I figured I would ask around here. I think the species I am most interested in is Mastacembelus plagiostoma.
What kind of tank set up? I already have super hard water and high Ph. I have 2 other tanks with rift lake cichlids.
Are they difficult to feed?
I'm certain they like to escape like most eels, how to I eel proof a tank?
Where is a good place to buy one? How much is this going to cost me? :)

Howdy! Are you the same person from AC? From what I've seen they are not too hard to feed. The only thing tricky is to make sure your other fish dont get the food meant for the eel. Some people use the bottle method where you put the food inside a bottle and sink it and then the eel is the only one who can ge inside and eat the food.

I have glass cover over my tank and then where the hoses run through I have the plastic cut to fit around it tightly. From my experience I've only really had to worry about them escaping when they are getting picked on by other fish.

I am :)

I got this name before I signed up with the AC. I really need to PM a mod and see if I can change it.

Thanks for the info!

i use glade press and seal to eel proof. and they will try to escape always. not just if getting picked on. eels are :nilly:
