on an icecube.....
hi there i was just wondering if anyone on here keeps one of these fish sence i cant find much info on them in aquaria, i have a small(3-4")in a 30g and was wondering if he will out grow this?(apparentley they only get to be 8" or so?)and dos anyone have pics of an adult?

also is it true these guys can be kept in groups?

thanks!

that's a pleurophthalma, I've never kept one but I think they get to about a foot, so you'd need a bigger tank yes.

nice....there pretty sweet nice ocellated spots.....they dont get that big....

well if he only gets to 16" thats not so bad, would he have any problems being with an oscar in a larger tank?

and whats a good size pond for a red line snake head?(iam planning on building one inside but iam not sure what kind of fish i whant in it.....so many diffrent monsters to choose from :D )

Both fishbase and the taiwan database give the same size (40 cm.) as does aquaticommunities.com, It is tough enough to fend off an oscar as large as it is and probably won't bother it but individual fish vary.

i was thinking abut building a pond for my red when i move house. I think 150g+ is good. Only problem i could think of with keeping a SH in a pond it the fact that they like to jump..

I kept a 24+ inch marulia in a 6x5x3 foot pond for a long time. But there was a netted frame over the top to stop him jumping out.
