I'm planning on getting a ray here in the near future, but I have a porcupine puffer which I've heard sometimes don't mix. It's the only fish that has me worried.
Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, with keeping rays and puffers together?

My puffers (Arothrons) never treated anything that buried itself nicely. Tails and eyes get investigated. Considering the damage caused by a test nip, puffers can cause devastating damage with little effort or intent.

I've had bad luck with porcupine puffers and similar Atlantic puffers (Hystrix, Burrfish etc...) and rays. Tails and eyes go first.

Thanks guys. This is a slight step back and it caused me to change up my plans a little. Thankfully I got this figured out before I made a big mistake. I intentionally stayed away from eels and triggers for the reason.
I should be set now.

I'm planning on doing a Cortez or California ray, but neither are available for me. Probably won't be for awhile. But there is a nice blue spot available for $129. Any input on these rays?

Blue spots need to stop showing up in the pet trade. LOL.
They just don't do well most of the time. I know a few people have been lucky - but 9 times out of 10 you'll end up with a dead ray within a month or so.
