Hi MFKers...

just wondering anyone keeping full adult specimen of Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) here? Freshwater ones?

I had 2 big ones but I made way for cichla so they went.

I didnt have a digi cam at the time :(

Are these guys rare over at your part of the world??
 
i bought one last year about this time , he was 5 in and by the end of summer a bloody 18inches in my koi pond, i thought raccoons were eating the koi


winded up giving him to an asian guy claiming to have a 360

Yeah...they are not so common in LFS wise...but in some wet market, you can find some big live ones for sale...

Yeah..I would say so..but I think Dat's aggression is still higher than this dude..One thing i like about them is they grow pretty fast..much faster than dats..
 
They can be pretty badass. Depends on the fish.

Are you looking for pics of big barra in just tanks???

Coz ive got some pics I can scan out of some fishing mags if I can find them. They are pretty big.
 
mine allowed itself to be pushed around by a largemouth of his own size in the pond all summer, one of the few fish that grew quick enough to not b consumed

I am more interested to see if there are fellow members owning this fish now as well...so we can see the pics and share ideas... :)
