Hey anyone who got Channa asiatica and what do u usally feed them? i gave them some shrimp but they dont seem to like it, dunno if theyr still getting used to the place but theyr swimming right next to my bigger Micro and doesnt seem botherd with it. so any advices what to feed this fellas? thanks:nilly:

HI,

asiatica take the usual middlesized channafood.
Shrimp,lancefish,Insects, worms,...

Asiatica is subtropical, so its not a good tankmate for a micro

Cheers Brucki

Maybe theyr not the perfect pair , but anyway one of them just eaten! small piece of shrimp :) !! i have it on 24C temprature atm , i read on one site C.asiastica can be found 22-28 Ceclisu , i think they will get used to this temprature !!

asiaticas native water tempreture is 18-24 deg , 24deg is only reached for a short period during the hight of summer , if your temp is set to 24deg i would imagine it should tolerate it quite well, but i have noticed they are much more active the cooler the tempreture and tend to become quite slow at around 24+ deg ,

one thing to consider , if your micro is allready bigger than the asiatica it will not take long before the micro makes a meal out of it . as asiatica grow much slower than micros anyway.

cheers col

Hi Col,

very right.
Asiatica do nt grow as fast as micro, and they 're outgrown at a size when you call a micropeltes still a Baby.
