Got a bunch from my local baitshop today, they're IMO one of the most underrated native fish. They remind me a lot of miniature bowfin in both appearance and behavior. Very cool little ambush predators, throw a bunch in a heavily planted 35g and throw some little feeder guppies in, it's interesting to watch. They're very hardy fish and thrive in a wide range of water temperatures - they make great tankmates for leaffish, ctenopoma, and other small-medium sized peaceful ambush predators. Just wondering if anyone else is keeping these...
