i wish they were during the day but just cram themselves under driftwood. At night they come out. I have a moonlight so can see a little bit of them

My all time favourite! Liosomadoras oncinus.
I have one that is about 2.5", have seen some at 6-7". SL is listed as just under 10", though have personally never seen one that big. Mine is very active with tank lights off (but room light on), especially if I add food. Mine gorges on krill, bloodworm and white mosquito larvae, but although I regularly feed sinking earthworm/bloodworm pellets before I go to bed, I have not seen the jag eat these. As a rule, they tend to be very nocturnal
These are sexable from about 6" - I'd say yours could be a female.

Sexually mature males have a genital papilla which is a modification of the anal fin, they also have thicker and more robust dorsal and pectoral fin spines.

I think they are the most vocal of talking catfishes

They are not even in the same genus. Talking catfish are from Doradidae and Jaguar catfish are from Auchenipteridae and closely related to the Gulper catfish.
