central mass.
I was lucky enough to pick one of these up over the weekend. I've never come across these in 30 years, are they rare to find?
I've had Suttoni in the old days, this fish seems to be a very close relative. scale/body shape etc....

anyone that's kept them? curious how aggressive these are and what were it's favorite foods.

I know it needs wood and veggies,

I try to get a pic of mine once he settles in...

but here is one of the best I've found reviewing the species,

Thanks yayfish,

It likes OSI algae wafers thats for sure. A little posturing with the sunshine but nothing bad.

How big are yours? Mines roughly 6-7"..

are they expensive?

Mine were about 2.5" when i got them. The larger one hasnt grown much the last year or so. Im curious about actual adult size and sexing. My large one is always guarding a cave so it may be a male?

Every reference I've found for them so far lists them at 12" max. In my opinion that means in captivity they will probably get a little bigger.

Mine has a wide girth so I'm suspecting it might be female. I usually sex them on the way in but did not in this case.

I'll put up some picks of mine when I get a chance.
