Hemibargus Wyckii, and Hemibargus nemurus.

Not too much info whether they could be kept together.

if anybody has it was probably not for long.
i housed 4 numerus for someone and they were a knightmare i had them in the same tank for 2 days before i shipped them and they were at each other constantly.
wyckii are even more nuts.

I saw some today at my LFS, about 4" for $14.99. They have them together with a tiny rtc. I remember seeing one a long time ago, and it a nice 8 incher, but it was solo in a tank. I am debating if I should get one...

Wyckii should never be kept with anything.Try putting your hand near one and see their behaviour.A species tank only.

I saw one in my LFS that was with those Hi-fin sharks. And with some platies, and goldfish. didn't bother any. But who's to say, I've never kept any. So I need more info. What is their behaviour thowards other dither mates? How's about the nemerus? Would they go together? Same size?

Like many agressive cats the wyckii starts life sociable but as it grows it becomes increasingly intollerant to ANY tankmates. One of the best catfish experts in U.K.,Richard Hardwick advises that this fish be kept single. It will even kill much larger fish.I know someone out there may say that they have kept them with other fish but this will be a rare exception.I would love one but at the moment dont have a spare tank for species only. Please forget wyckii as mixed tank.

Too bad, wyckii it's a beautiful catfish. Now the other catfsh, nemerus, I've also heard it is a very mean catfish, and should also be kept singly. Any thoughts on that?

i know of someone with a big 20" wykii in comm tank and its fine, so i tried a smallish 9" in with my mixed com fish ranging from 6" to 15" and it was mental moved all the fish round the tank nothing would stand up to it, had to take it out after 10 mins i sure it would have done some serious damage. ive also had a simaler sized asian red tail in the same tank, and it was aggresive but only to other ctafish. I once thought about keeping the two together but its definately not possible, my wykii is fearless. if your thinking of keeping either in a comm you would need to grow them on with tankmates as small as pos, tankmates that can look after themselves large cichlids would be best, nothing too expensive, but be prepared for disaster

Wyckiis are bad, nemerus is reputedly worse, some say most aggressive fish in home aquarium. What goes for wyckii double for nemerus.Sorry but there is no other way to say it.
