Anyone know a good source of daphnia?

My cultures are doing ok but I have a surplus of baby axies that are going to wipe it out unless I find some more. Don't worry I have back up food as well.

Any one know of a place you can buy a decent amount of daphnia?

Sach's is about the cheapest I've seen. The prices out there for invert cultures are outrageous. You could also try a local environmental testing lab, wastewater treatment plant, college biology dept., etc.; D. magna and C. dubia are standard toxicological assay organisms and these sorts of places may have clean cultures on hand that they'd be willing to share. I'd send you some but my cultures are at low ebb right now.

Also try the classifieds on caudata.org; there are several people on there who raise daphnids and other feeder bugs in large quantities and may have excess for sale.

Their is a guy local to me Southern Maryland that sells Daphnia Magna. I believe he ships too. Shoot me a PM and I'll get his email.
