I need to write the Terms of Services for a website,
as well as a privacy policy.

And need to find out...

what sort of weasel words to avoid,
how to refer to the staff and volunteers on the site,
how to say they give up the rights to content when its posted,
how to say they are being tracked, but that its not sold to third parties...
as well as a few other things.

I have no clue where to start.

AFAIK I could just write it up myself and its legally binding but I want to be sure, in the event I actually needed to use it to defend the site...or prosecute someone.

I believe that'd be stealing.

Most licenses on sites like VB and phpbb are released openly, so legally id be able to just use there TOS but doing so would cause me to have to release my site under the same license. Which would be an issue.

Andy Cook writing any TOS = divding by zero (< this is where the smily for the "world ending" would go if there was one..) :grinno:

Yeah, but you would be stealing from a lawyer. Ironic no?
