Alright, so I have a Spanish Newt in my 20 Gallon with some community tropical fish. I had quite a few ghost shrimp in the tank with him, but he was too stupid to catch them. I added a fire eel, not realizing that he would eat all of the shrimp. I have since removed the eel, however my newt has not been himself recently. Im not sure if it has to do with the addition of plants, the change in lighting, the death of the ghost shrimp, or if he's just getting old. He's approxiametly 7 inches from head to toe, and rather large. He was very active when I got him, always scowering the tank looking for food. Recently however, he will not eat. He sits idly in the tank, so still at points that I think he is dead. Please help! I don't know what to do. I was feeding him trout worms, and he was loving them, but now he's not accepting anything. Has anyone had any experience with newts? What do I do?
Thanks!
~Corry

How long have you had it and has it grown any, average captive life span for the Pleurodeles walti from hatching is 8-12 years, also what temperature is it at as they prefer 65-72 F and do poorly at higher temperatures
