i have one that came with my tank, and my lfs recently got a few smaller ones in. we were interested in picking up two more soon but i just want to be sure they won't fight.. i've read that the males will fight. does anyone know anything about them? i have a hard time googling them...i really can't find anything about keeping them in an aquarium.. and if the males fight, is there a way to tell which genders they are? mine is about two inches and the ones at the lfs are about an inch if i remember correctly

what kind of halfbeaks do you have? i believe they have the medium ones and the small ones that stays 2 inches. i used to a few golden halfbeaks in my pond they stay small and are top dwellers. they love live black/bloodworms and occasionally eat babie guppies. they prefer fast flowing waters and temp in the 70's. tho my ponds were in the 50's and they were fine.

seems to be the small kind i guess. he's right about two inches and has been that way since i got him about six or seven months ago. and the guy who had him before me had him for at least several months as well. he is a warmish silvery with red fins, but the ones at the store are just silver, and a cooler shade of silver, rather than charlie's slightly warm [very slightly yellowy-brown tinted in some areas] silver. i just wanna know if i'm able to get more

sounds like the ones i had. sometimes they are white, sometimes silverish and sometimes dark silver. most of the time the males are prettier and colorful than the female. i dont see why you cant get more?

okay, thank you. i had read somewhere that the males fight or something, so i just wasn't sure. i'm moving my community tank to be in my larger tank on tuesday so they'll have plenty of surface space [i'll wait to get them until then]. if i see any problems i'll find them new homes :] thanks a bunch!
