Yeah, I have 3 northern longears i would like to sex to see if i can get atleast a mating pair and at best 2 females and one male would be pretty sweet. Any help would be nice!

Longears are sexually dimorphic and easy to tell the difference between the two (unlike some other sunfishes).
Mature males will display bright colors and get and elongated opercle (earflap).
Females (although some can have nice colors) are typically more drab in appearance and will not have the elongated 'ear tab'. Do some seraching on the internet for pictures, you'll be able to see the difference.

When he says bright colored he means BRIGHT!!! The males will develope a blue irridescence that is almost fake looking. From their lips to their tails, they will be quite a bit more colorful than the females. Also be sure like Willie said, to look at the ear flap. The males' flaps will be far more pronounced, that those of the females. Any pics? Best of luck.

Ben.

alright, thanks fellows, mine are out in a cold pond right now so they really don't have much color but once i bring them in they should put on color and i will be better able to tell

The attached pic is a young central longear i took this year from a local creek just to give you an idea of the colors on the males
