Anyone know much about Bumblebees?

Not sure if this goes here or lounge.

Well I was at my house today searching for arrowheads today and stumbled up on what my best guess is a bumblebee hill. Looks like a large ant hill but bees were flying in and out of it. Hoping someone here would know something about it. Thanks.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I should of been worried about getting stung or not cause I got real close. To take the pics.

It may be a breeding nest cause the bees were all pretty small.

They definatley live in the ground in smallish colony of 50-100 bees. They are not aggressive at all and will only sting if you handle them if at all!
