I owned one a long time ago. Kept it it with Rainbow Cichlids, Spilurums (Blue Eyes), Sajicas, and Firemouths. It was my "Mellow Central American Cichlid Tank". They are commonly called Spiny Cichlids, but I don't see them too often. Mellow cichlid. Don't put it with anything tougher than a Firemouth.

thank you for the info i did research and found that they get around 6 inches and they are peaceful.
i dont deal with the lesser agressive fish like the rainbow and fire mouth so i didnt realy know. i nevr even seen or herd of this guy before and there not around here thats for sure lol
thanks alot for the fast reply and info hell be being house with a oscar.

yeah archonsetrus spino.

That is a very good find! They are extremely slow growers. It is the least aggressive cichlid in the archocentrus family. I would not recommend keeping them with any other archocentrus species or firemouth because they will get chased or bully constantly. Their colors would not show up if they get harrassed constantly and they will remain grey and black. Good luck with them.

BTW, where did you get it?

Never seen those before. They look kinda cool...almost like a hybrid of a Jag and Con.
