anyone know what this thing is growing on my live rock?

just like the title says theres 2 of them, just appeared on a rock that i bought they live inside the rock and pop out when they feel its safe, 2 spiral lie towers and that flap never seen them before soo just wondering what it is:P

Spirobranchus giganteus is what theyre called after searching the avatar form i found out what they really are:P
 
does anyone else have these? and are they safe to keep?
 
They're totally safe, just a harmless filter feeder. In nature, they form a symbiotic relationship with coral like Porites (the skeleton is the rock in the pic). If you want them to live, dose the tank regularly with phytoplankton.

If you ever mix up your substrate, they will also pull that crud out of the h2o as it drifts past them.

I have never had to target feed these guys, they should spread for you though if kept happy.

I actually heard that those avatar creatures are based off of underwater animals, or at least a lot of the stuff was inspired by underwater life.
