Anyone know whats on my rams tail?

He's had these white spots on the bottom part of his tail since I've had him (got him last month). None of my fish have ich and those spots have been on his tail since FOREVER. Anyone know what they are or if I can get rid of them?

Looks to me like someone may have been getting nipped... what else is in the tank with the ram?

If it was fungus it would have covered the fsh by now and it would be dead. Fungus only takes a few days to completely cover a fish and kill it.

Well it depends on the temp of the tank. Fungus grows fast in warmer water.

i've kept that tank at 78° consistently for a few months now. What confuses me is that he's had those markings/spots since I've had him...he didn't get them while living in my tank. They're also the same exact spots he had the first day I saw him...they haven't increased or diminished since.
