Anyone know what's wrong with this ray

Does anyone know what's going on with this ray? It started with a few tiny holes couple days ago and now it's big

Have you checked your water parameters and are you doing regular water changes?

Do you have any sharp pvc in the tank? At least it doesn't look infected.

water change every week. I used the metal prong to move the ray around so I could take those pictures cause it was hiding under the sand. I do have a heater in the tank

For some reason they can't feel it. They will sit on it and burn themselves and not even recognize they are hurting themselves. I make them out of pvc, drill holes for flow, drill and split one endcap for the cord. Use a heater controller too. When heaters fail they often fail in the on position.
