Anyone know someone who can provide geophagus altifrons, surinamensis, or sveni except for rapps. He currently only has wild sveni in which I wish I could afford but I can't right now. Can't seek to find them anywhere.

G. sveni are still fairly new so you're not likely going to find tank-raised ones. Jeff Rapps is the only person I know of in the states selling them.

Altifrons are usually easy to find. Any big box store that carries geos will usually have them labeled as surinamensis.

No stores where I live have them and I'm in Minnesota. Altifrons use to be easy to find but have checked every site possible and have no luck. Everyone says they're out of stock

Back when I was keeping them any number of species were lumped into the name Geo altifrons. In the last 20 years many have been given species status, and may be why the the Geo known simply as altifrons, is now so hard to find. And telling many apart from each other is often difficult. Altifrons is now considered a complex, made up of many species
All the species below were once considered simply altifrons, and were maybe sold by location or as an example, Geophagus altifrons " sp rio _ ?_ red head"
Tocantins
Manaus
Xingu
Trombetas
Tapajos(red head, orange head, etc etc)
Aripuana
Maraba
Altamira
Areoes
Argyrostictus
and probably, many more I don't remember

The pic above is so old, it was taken before I had a real camera, on a flip phone
