well, i do ! but i only label my main fish such as my poly, oscar and midas. lol i include their names(scientific and common names), diet, date first bought as well as the name of the lfs where i bought it, the length of it when i bought it, it's native country and other main characteristics of it. :)
has anyone u guys do the same thing? feel free to share.

yeaahh, i was going to start doing tht but naahh, not worth my time. lol but i generally took pictures of my fish and try to compare it then with now. tht's all.

When I am considering getting a particular fish, I document as much as I can in advance. Besides common and scientific name, I list everything from temp/ph/dh to size/girth/weight to behaviors and types of foods (both wild diet and common aquarium food.) I also create folders of bookmarks linking to articles, forum posts, etc. for each species. I also have a batch of pics of the same species that I use as my screensaver.

Logs and journals sound like a great idea, but I find I am too lazy to keep those up to date. I also don't document the home country and have never documented where I got a fish. Those sound like excellent ideas I need to seriously consider.

nice man. i think i need to consider on making a journals/logs about my fish. lol and i think it's also a good idea to include pictures and updates of its size in the journals. :)
btw, what i meant 'label' was, do u guys like stick their info on your tanks? i do tht. labeling just like what lfs's do.

I keep a log.

Fish name size and price.
If I sell or trade I place a note also.
Everything else considered alive, given, dead or missing.

Only my pleco tanks are labelled.

I added it up a few months ago, blew my mind. Won't do that again lol.

no here, you want to know what it is and its history, just ask me. I do to much documentation at work, no desire to do it at home.

I write it in a journal but just the name and when I got it since if I'm getting the fish I expect I would have done all the research on it prior to.

the main reason i label and stick their info on my tanks is so tht other people would can identify what are you keeping and my tanks would be the attraction for guests. haha
i nver do logs or journals, and yeah i agree, i would sometimes record them as well as take pics to keep memories and to differentiate the size of it then and now with a comparison in the pic. :)
