Anyone leave their tank lights on constantly?

And if your hood has plastic reflectors they will melt.
 
I keep my lights on a timer. I have a night crew that comes out to replace the day crew once the lights go out, which includes a couple different catfish and loaches.
 
you are stressing your fish keeping lights on round the clock.
this is something you can do occasionally, for specific reasons, but not for months on end..

Same, Cichlids go to sleep and the catfish and loaches come out to play.
 
I have a tank at work that is always on.Im going to put a timer on it this week just cause I think it is better for the fish.The kribs didnt seem well there but I took them home and put guppies in and it doesnt seem to bother them.
I tried getting coworkers to turn off the lights but the lights stay on or off depending on how I leave them.
No algae growth,the java moss is growing fine,but the hornwort died

If you really want to keep the light on all the time, invest in some artifical moonlight that fall in the natural frequently of a real moonlight.
