Anyone mix Hujeta gars with Polys?

I've got a friend who's selling Hujeta Ctenolucius for 10$, it's a great price for these parts and I love a good predatory fish, I've read they max out in tanks at 20cm, but i havent seen them with polys. My smallest is an albino sizing at 5". The gar is 2" and I'll have to grow it out if I do get it, my ornate's pretty feisty. Any thoughts suggestions or experiences greatly appreciated.

i have a hujeta pike with my polys
mine is about 6" now. slow growers in my exp.
its nice to have something on the top part of the tank.
i got it to eat small floating pellets the first day
fun to watch it hunt live foods every once in awhile though.

I was debating between that and an angelfish....the decision is made. So hey max out at 20cm eh? under a foot?

...also will they eat frozon shrimp silversides and all that or to they just go after live food? any preferred foods? Couldn't seem to find info about their dite besides eating feeders.

mine mainly eats small floating pellets and chopped up smelt/shrimp that i feed my bichirs.
