I saw an emerald Toucanet at a pet store today and fell in love.

Such an awesome interactive bird, wasn't shy at all, drank water and ate in front of me, and responded to clicking noises.

$1300!!! :WHOA:

I'm not debating whether to get the bird or a DSLR when I have the money saved lol

Has anyone here ever had or currently keeping one as a pet?

awesome birds but very messy.... most fruit eaters are
If your going to get one...go to the source toucanjungle.com and ensure yourself a real quality animal as opposed to a pet store bird that could have come from anywhere.

Thanks Sylvias, I am thinking about getting one maybe in a year, still have a LOT of research to do, and I'd have to build a cage first. Luckily my girl will let me use her backyard for a large flight.

When I get one, I'll be going to emeraldforestbirds.com. The owner Jerry Jennings is the first person to breed the Emerald Toucanet and several other species of exotic bird in captivity.

We're making plans to stay at the B&B when we are ready to pick up an animal.

what store is this at ? i gotta see this aha !
sorry for not being able to help, serg ! lol

hahaha it's cool Neil. It's a small pet store on Maine St. in Baldwin Park, I forget the name of the place.
