I was at one of the local stores yesterday, and they had a GORGEOUS STP there! I had never seen one in person before, and I must say it made a big impression on me. I would have bought it on the spot, but didn't have anywhere to put it when I got home.

I didn't think to take any pics of it, but I'll try to stop by tomorrow to check it out again and take pics.

So anyways, does anyone on here keep them, and if so, could you post pics and your experiences? I'm seriously considering buying it...

Try picking it up first...with gloves lol

:)

I didn't handle it, but the employee it. He picked it right up out of the container (bare handed) and held it for a couple minutes. It didn't show the least bit of aggression.

This isn't a new born snake, either. It was a trade in they got from someone who knows the owner. I think it was about 18-20" long, but it was coiled up and I'm bad at judging snake lengths. Its been socialized somewhat I believe.

I have owned a borneo short tailed python. The temperments are generally better then the sumatran and malaysian. I guess what I am saying is they are not always like a nice little bps. More like a carpet python, a bit nippy in the beggining but they calm down with handeling (most of the time). They are lazy snakes when they get older, just make sure you do not over feed them. Borneos also need plenty of humidity (but not to wet). A four foot by two foot enclosure would be a good size for an adult. I would also reccomend ordering from a godd breeder, temperment is also part genetic.
