Herichthys carpintis "Escondido." I don't know a common name besides carpintis cichlid.

Carpintis is not actually the Texas cichlid, but some people, including some lfs, confuse them. They're closely related but carpintis comes from a different range than the Texas cichlid. Herichthys cyanoguttatus is the Texas cichlid and can actually be found in Texas (and part of northern Mexico). Carpintis aren't found in Texas. Escondido is one of several native locations for carpintis, so it's actually a good thing the shop had the location, assuming it's correct.

Duane and some others can give you more details, including differences in appearance, which are subtle if you haven't kept them.

Agree with the above, it appears to be Herichthys carpintus, and the term Escondido, is (may be) a location (lagoon) in Mexico often credited as to where it (if wild caught) or its ancestors may have been collected. Populations are often dubbed by location such as Escondido, Chairel, or Rio Hondo to help separate them from the aquarium strains that are often Herichthys cyanoguttatus/carpintus hybrids.
Below is Herichthys carpintus "location Chairel", a lagoon close to the sea.

male above, female below

There is also Herichthys tamosopoensis (below) found more inland in the Tamasopo area

Some people claim to be able to tell variants apart, I can't
Here is another I had for a while, believe it was Rio Hondo
