My big common does. He loves to come up top and swim verticle w/ his mouth sticking out to get all the floating flakes.

My 13" common will actually eat the floating lettuce I supplied his tank with, I saw him doing this one morning, upside down on the top, munching away!

i had a common that used to eat my cichlid gold from the surface - looks like commons sucking on the surface is common lol!
