If so, can you share how wide open is your gate valve and what pump are you running ?

How much flow are you getting from the system ?

I have 2 overflow box, each have one 1.5" and 2 - 3/4". I am planning on using both 1.5" for herbie and the 4 - 3/4" for emergency drain.

Rather than trying to tune 2 gate valves, I was going to merge both 1.5" drain into one 2" PVC with gate valve, BUT if a single 1.5" herbie can drain at least 3K gallon per hour, then I can just run 1 drain and 5 - emergency drain :) it'll save me some money in plumbing and an extra gate valve

Thanks

One overflow, two one inch pipes, one emergency....
Running Rio hyperflow 32, gate valve I think is 3/4 open, valve on return pump is wide open.
Flow is great but I would like to have just a hair more.

I'm running two overflows, each have a 1.5" Herbie and a 3/4" emergency. I'm running two ReeFlo Snappers wide open through this. The gate valves are closed down quite a bit, I'm guessing I have more flow capacity then I'm using.

Do you have both herbie with gate valves ? Was it hard to fine tune them ?

What size PVC are you running on both snapper ?

I am running a 1.5" down to 1" bulkhead and 1" PVC to sump w a rio 26hf. I actually couldn't find a gate valve locally so I am using a ball valve and am having luck w it. I'd say mine is atleast half closed

Just curious, how are you going to run herbie w boxes? You need a drilled tank

I stand corrected on my stand pipe size, I'm using 1.25". My pumps are plumbed to the sump with 2" PVC and unions. The outlet on the pumps is 1.5" split to two 3/4" through a supposedly "free flowing Y". So I have four 3/4" outlets in total.

I have a gate valve on each Herbie. It was not very difficult to tune them, it just takes a little patience. If you make any changes that affect water flow you will need to readjust your gate valves, otherwise they are just set and forget.

If you have a hard time finding gate valves, try McMaster Carr, they have a great selection. That is where I bought mine.

My tank is a 575 gallion, The two overflow "boxes" are inside the tank. The tank is drilled on the bottom, the "boxes" is a trapezoid panel that separate the drilled holes with the main tank water area.
